(COLUMBIA, MO) -
The City of Columbia Housing Programs Division is pleased to announce exciting changes to its Home Rehab and Homeownership Assistance Programs.

The first change combines the City's legacy rehab programs into one "Home Rehab & Energy Efficiency Program." The new program maintains previously eligible services with 0% interest loans for foundation repair, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, roof, lead hazard reduction, in-door air quality improvements, energy efficiency and other home upgrades. The new program also features a more user-friendly loan repayment system, additional funding for each individual project and stronger safeguards to protect public investments in affordable housing.

The second change includes increasing the Homeownership Assistance Program assistance amount to 10% of the purchase price and up to $10,000. The City anticipates this increase in assistance amount will further expand homeownership opportunities citywide. The Housing Programs Division will also be providing additional housing counseling, credit counseling and support to participant households entering the process of becoming a homeowner.
