<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The City of Columbia Water & Light Utility has scheduled an interested parties meeting for Tuesday, Oct. 1, from 5 to 6 p.m in Conference Room 1C in City Hall, 701 E. Broadway, to discuss an upcoming electric project located at the crossing of East Broadway (Route WW) and the electric transmission line near 3821 E. Broadway (A-1 Auto Recyclers). The project will reinforce and strengthen the critical electrical transmission line with new steel transmission line structures. Representatives from the City of Columbia Utilities will be available to discuss the project and answer questions about the proposed work.  <br /><br /></span><span style="font-weight: 400;">The City currently maintains a double circuit 69KV & 161KV wood pole transmission line that runs north/south, east of Columbia. It was built in 1976 and serves customers o
 
 f both the City of Columbia and Boone Electric Cooperative. The wooden H-frame transmission line structure that supports the crossing of East Broadway (Route WW) is 43 years old and has reached the end of its useful life. <br /><br /></span><span style="font-weight: 400;">As the City adds an additional support structure on the south side of Route WW, the structure located inside A-1 Auto Recyclers will be shifted north, away from the highway. This shifting of the transmission structure will reduce the net span length of Route WW highway crossing from 700 feet to 515 feet. The two new steel structures on either side of Route WW will be much stronger than the current single wooden structure that is being replaced.  <br /><br /></span><span style="font-weight: 400;">For questions or comments regarding this project, please contact Dan Clark at 573.874.7738 or by email at Dan.Clark@CoMo.gov.</span></p></div>
