<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services (PHHS) continues to offer flu shots for all residents age six months and older through community-based flu clinics throughout Boone County. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">A high dose flu shot is available specifically for individuals age 65 and older. Those with a severe egg allergy should speak with a trusted medical provider about options. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that every individual six months of age and older receive an annual flu vaccination as it is the best means of preventing the proliferation of the flu virus. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">No appointment is needed at the community flu clinics; walk-ins are welcome. This year's schedule includes:</span></p>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Rocheport - Monday, Oct. 14, 2-3 p.m.; Rocheport Moniteau Housing, </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">600 E. Fourth St., Rocheport, MO.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Centralia - Thursday, Oct. 17, 2019, 3:30-6 p.m.; Centralia Intermediate School, 550 W. Lakeview, Centralia, MO.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-weight: 400;">Sturgeon - Thursday, Oct. 24, 2019, 3:30-6 p.m.; Sturgeon Elementary/Middle School cafeteria, 210 W. Patton, Sturgeon, MO.</span></li>
<li>Harrisburg - Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019, 3:30-6 p.m.; Harrisburg Community Room, 1000 S. Harris St., Harrisburg, MO.</li>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">PHHS will continue offering free injectable flu vaccinations to residents age six months through 18 years old courtesy of a continued partnership with the MU Children’s Hospital and the David B. Lichenstein Foundation. For residents age 19 and older, the cost of vaccination will depend on insurance. PHHS community-based clinics accept cash, checks and can bill many insurance providers. </span><strong>PHHS does not presently have a way to charge debit or credit cards at the community flu clinics.</strong><span style="font-weight: 400;"> Receipts will be provided upon request. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The flu vaccination remains available on a walk-in basis (no appointment needed), Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. in the PHHS clinic, located at 1005 W. Worley Street, Columbia, Missouri. </span></p>
