<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - On Nov. 12, Columbia City Manager John Glascock announced the selection of De’Carlon Seewood as the next deputy city manager, beginning Monday, Nov. 18. Seewood has more than 13 years of experience in various executive leadership roles in local government. <br /><br />"The background De’Carlon has with economic development, human resources, community development, financial management, civic engagement and more will be an asset to our leadership team," Glascock said. "His passion for public service is evident and our community and City organization will benefit from his expansive experience in local government."<br /><br />Most recently, Seewood served as the city manager for the City of Ferguson, Missouri from 2015 until this year. His prior experience includes serving as the village manager for the Village of Richton Park, Illinois from 2009 to 2015, the city m
 
 anager for the City of Berkley, Missouri from 2007 to 2009 and the assistant city manager for Ferguson, Missouri from 2001 to 2007. He’s also served in an interim capacity as a director of Finance, Planning and Development, and Ferguson Neighborhood Improvement Program.<br /><br />"I am excited and honored to be joining the City of Columbia’s team," Seewood said. "I look forward to being part of all the positive activities occurring in Columbia."<br /><br />Seewood earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1994 from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri and a Master of Public Administration in 1997 from the University of Missouri-Columbia. <br /><br />"The City of Columbia will benefit from Mr. Seewood's professional qualifications, key insight and unique experience," Mayor Brian Treece said. "I congratulate City Manager Glascock for building a team that can serve the best interests of our City and community."<br /><br />A
 
 fter becoming interim city manager, Glascock made changes to the city manager’s office structure and the second deputy city manager position was eliminated for cost-savings and added efficiency. <br /><br />Seewood's annual salary will be $140,000 and includes the benefits package for directors. A swearing-in ceremony will occur Monday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m., at the City Council meeting.</div>
