<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The Columbia Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire at 4003 Day Flower Court on Monday, December 9, 2019 at 2:36pm.<br /><br />The first unit arrived on the scene approximately five minutes later and noted no smoke or fire coming from a two story residence.  Upon entering the home they encountered smoke and located a fire in a hallway that was quickly extinguished and confined to the hallway.  <br /><br />A Fire Marshal was dispatched to perform a fire origin and cause investigation.  The origin of the fire was a hallway in the home.  The cause was an electrical failure of a battery operated Christmas tree.  Damage is estimated at $2,000.  <br /><br />Six units from the Columbia Fire Department responded to this call.  There were no reported injuries.  </div>
