<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">Crisis Negotiation Team, SWAT respond to barricaded subject with active warrants in the 5700 block of Rocky Fork Drive on Dec. 27</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Columbia Police went to a residence in the 5700 block of Rocky Fork Drive on Friday, Dec. 27,  to serve warrants in relation to a burglary that occurred on Tuesday, Dec. 24, at a residence in the 3200 block of Rock Quarry Road. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">During the burglary investigation, detectives were able to identify Dorice Reue Smith, 27, of Columbia as the suspect in the burglary. Probable cause was established to request warrants from the Boone County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for Smith. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">After officers arrived at the residence on Rocky Fork Drive to serve the warrants, Smith refused to exit the residence and barricaded himself inside. Smith surrendered approximately 60 minutes after CPD made initial contact and was taken into custody without incident. The Columbia Police Street Crimes Unit, Crisis Negotiation Team, SWAT, and the Boone County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Smith was charged with burglary first degree, 2 counts of felon in possession of a firearm, resisting arrest, property damage and 2 counts of stealing a firearm. </span></p>
