<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">A 16-person City of Columbia Public Works Street Division plow crew, plus fleet operations and support staff, reported at 7 a.m., Jan. 25, to replace the overnight crew. R</span><span style="font-weight: 400;">esidents are encouraged to closely monitor road conditions throughout the mid-Missouri area and continue to drive with caution this morning. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">When snow accumulates to 4 inches, all City streets are plowed and treated to a </span><a href="https://www.como.gov/comosnow/home/examples-of-passable-roads/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">passable condition</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> 24/7, according to City policy. Although a street may still be snow packed, a street is considered passable once an inspector determines that at least one travel lane is accessible for a front wheel drive vehicle at driving speeds well below the normal posted speed limits. <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Crews report that 90 percent of streets have been plowed to a passable condition. The City of Columbia Street Viewer (online map) shows which neighborhood areas that City crews are currently working in to make roads passable and which areas have been reported as passable (green) or mostly passable (yellow).</span> <span style="font-weight: 400;">A street is considered passable once an inspector determines that at least one travel lane is accessible for a front wheel drive vehicle at driving speeds well below the normal posted speed limits. <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Note: There is currently a glitch in the online map in a ward just north of Vandiver Drive in which no color code is showing. That ward is currently yellow indicating that most roads are reported passable in that area. Once all roads in that ward are reported passable, it should change to green.</span></p>
