<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The annual Advancing Renewables in the Midwest Conference will be held Tuesday, March 31, from 1 to 6 p.m. and Wednesday, April, 1 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the University of Missouri campus at the Christopher S. Bond Life Sciences Center, 1201 Rollins St.<br /><br />This conference offers attendees the opportunity to hear speakers from across the country discuss programs, projects and policies that are effectively advancing the use of renewable energy. <br /><br />One of the keynote speakers will be Rob Threlkeld, General Motors’ Global Manager of Sustainable Energy, Supply and Reliability. He will speak about GM’s commitment to meeting the electricity needs of its global operations with 100% renewable energy by 2050, and why that makes sense from a business standpoint, as well as an environmental one. A full list of speakers and topics can be found at advancingrenewables.org/.&nbs
 
 p;<br /><br />Registration pricing of $150 is available through March 22. Late registration will be available for an additional $25. A 20% discount is available for groups of five or more as well as retirees. Need-based scholarships for the registration fee are available. Media covering the event should check-in at the registration desk on the day of the conference.<br /><br />Lunches and a continental breakfast will be served during the conference, as well as a networking reception Tuesday evening and a dinner outing at the downtown Shakespeare’s Tuesday night. <br /><br />The Advancing Renewables in the Midwest Conference is hosted by City of Columbia Water & Light and the University of Missouri School Of Natural Resources.  Event sponsors include Liberty Utilities, Evergy, Ameren Missouri, Invenergy, American Wind Energy Association (AWEA), Boone Electric Cooperative, EFS Energy, Energy Resources Group, Missouri Public Utility Alliance (MPUA) and the N
