<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px; margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">Overnight crack seal operations planned on North Providence, Nifong intersections beginning March 9</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;">City of Columbia Public Works plans to perform crack sealing operations on North Providence Road, between Blue Ridge Road and Rain Forest Parkway, and several intersections in south Columbia, beginning March 9, weather permitting. This work is scheduled to take place during the overnight hours from 8:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. </p>
<br />
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Crack sealing involves using a liquid asphalt substance to seal minor cracks along asphalt and concrete streets and between concrete panels. Sealing the cracks reduces the infiltration of water and subsequent roadway damage from freezing and thawing. While labor-intensive, crack sealing is one of the most beneficial forms of pavement preservation treatments.Work is currently planned at or near the following intersections:</span></p>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Nifong Boulevard and Forum Boulevard</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Nifong Boulevard and Sinclair Street</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Nifong Boulevard and Old Mill Creek Road</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Bethel Street and Southampton Drive</span></li>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Motorists are asked to watch for workers in the roadway and be prepared to slow down. Flaggers will be present to assist motorists through the work zone. Motorists, nonmotorized transportation users and pedestrians are encouraged to find alternate routes if possible and to use extreme caution. Minor traffic delays are possible. </span></p>
