<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The City of Columbia will provide regular updates related to the coronavirus (COVID-19) to provide residents and media partners with information about the number of cases, health resources and changes to City operations and services. Official information from the City of Columbia and Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services (PHHS) can be found at <a href="https://www.como.gov/coronavirus/" target="_blank">CoMo.gov/Coronavirus</a>. The City will also be utilizing City and PHHS official social media accounts to post updates. r /><strong>Thursday, March 19 summary</strong><br />The number of positive cases has increased in Boone County. At the time of publishing, there were two additional positive cases. Parking enforcement in downtown Columbia has been suspended, more information is below.<br /><br /><strong>Cases in Boone County</strong><br />At the time of this release, Boone County has two new positive coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, bringing the total to three. The two patients are in their 60s and 70s and their cases are related to out-of-state contact with a positive case.<br /><br />

<em>*Numbers current as of March 19 at 5 p.m.</em><br /><br />As Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services is notified about positive cases, the <a href="https://www.como.gov/coronavirus/" target="_blank">CoMo.gov/Coronavirus</a> page will be updated.<br /><br /><strong>Testing message</strong><br />While testing is becoming more available, there are limitations in providers' capacity to obtain samples and process lab results rapidly. Anyone who has symptoms and is high risk is encouraged to call their health care provider and have a conversation with them about whether it makes sense to get tested for COVID-19. The provider will determine whether testing is recommended.<br /><br /><strong>Changes to City services</strong><br />Effective Thursday, March 19, all City of Columbia parking enforcement is suspended until further notice, including parking garages and all on-street meter parking. This will assist in not overwhelming our Municipal Court system once opera
tions are back to normal. The City also hopes this will help the downtown business community in their efforts to provide carry-out services and curbside pick-up. </div>
