<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">Midblock closure planned on Eighth Street to facilitate access to Columbia Utilities drive-up window, beginning April 16</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Beginning </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Thursday, April 16, at 7 a.m., the City of Columbia plans to implement a temporary traffic control plan to accommodate increased traffic at its Columbia Utilities drive-up windows.</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"> The drive-up windows are located in the alley behind City Hall and are accessible via the one-way alley on Eighth Street between Walnut Street and Broadway. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Eighth Street between the drive-up alley and Walnut Street will be one-way only, allowing two lanes of southbound traffic. Motorists will form two lines on Eighth Street and into the alley, where they will then merge together as they approach the drive-up window. This will reduce overflow traffic on Eighth Street and Walnut Street. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">To further reduce congestion, motorists will only be allowed to access the drive-up alley via southbound Eighth Street from Walnut Street. Barricades will close northbound access to the alley on Eighth Street from Broadway. Access to the Simmons Bank (formerly Landmark Bank) will not be affected by the closure.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Eighth Street exit of the Plaza Garage will also be temporarily closed to avoid traffic disruptions. Vehicles parking in the garage will be able to exit onto Seventh Street. The parking spaces in the drive-up alley will be closed to accommodate two lanes of traffic.</span></p></div>
