<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <br /><strong>Monday, April 27 summary</strong><br />The number of positive cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Boone County is currently 92 with 88 who have recovered at the time of publishing. There are no new cases from the previous update. Below is information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) about symptoms of COVID-19, including new additions. Also below is information from Parks and Recreation about allowing a limited number of carts on the City-owned golf courses.<br /><br /><strong>Cases in Boone County</strong><br />

They’ve also added six new possible symptoms.<br /><br />People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported, ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. The following symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus:<br />
<ul>
<li>Fever</li>
<li>Cough</li>
<li>Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing</li>
<li>Chills (new)</li>
<li>Repeated shaking with chills (new)</li>
<li>Muscle pain (new)</li>
<li>Headache (new)</li>
<li>Sore throat (new)</li>
<li>New loss of taste or smell (new)</li>
</ul>
<br />The CDC advises that anyone that has the following emergency warning signs for COVID-19 should get medical attention immediately:<br />
<ul>
<li>Trouble breathing</li>
<li>Persistent pain or pressure in the chest</li>
<li>New confusion or inability to arouse</li>
<li>Bluish lips or face</li>
</ul>
<br />Officials also note that this list is not all-inclusive. They ask that residents consult their medical provider for any other symptoms that are severe or concerning.<br /><br />Anyone who calls 911 for a medical emergency and also has symptoms of the coronavirus is advised to notify the operator of the symptoms. If possible, put on a cloth face covering before medical help arrives.<br /><br />For more information from the CDC, please visit the following website: <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html">cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html</a>.<br /><br /><strong>Changes to City services</strong><br /><em>Parks and Recreation</em><br />Beginning Monday, April 27, Columbia Parks and Recreation will rent a limited number of carts for golfers at Lake of the Woods and L.A. Nickell golf courses. Golfers are still encouraged to walk the course if possible. Private golf carts will also continue to be allowed.<br
/><br />All private and rented carts will be restricted to one person per cart with the exception that immediate family members in the same household may be a passenger in carts. Rented carts will be fully sanitized by a cart attendant between each use.<br /><br /><br />Official information from the City of Columbia and Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services (PHHS) can be found at <a href="https://www.como.gov/coronavirus/">CoMo.gov/Coronavirus</a>.
