<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><strong>Friday, May 8 summary<br /></strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">The number of positive cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Boone County is currently 98 with 92 who have been released from isolation at the time of publishing. Friday's Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services Facebook Live video answered questions about contact tracing. View the video on their </span><a href="https://www.facebook.com/CoMoHealthDept"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Facebook page</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. Below is information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) about how to properly clean and disinfect your home.</span></p>

<p><strong>Health message<br /></strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">The CDC offers everyday steps individuals can take to ensure their homes are cleaned and disinfected properly:</span></p>
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Wear reusable or disposable gloves for routine cleaning and disinfection.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Clean surfaces using soap and water, then use disinfectant.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Practice routine cleaning of frequently touched surfaces such as: Tables, doorknobs, light switches, countertops, handles, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets, faucets, sinks, etc.</span></li>
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">For electronic devices, consider using a wipeable cover.</span></li>
</ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Launder clothing, towels, linens and other items according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Use the warmest appropriate water setting and dry items completely.</span></li>
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Wear disposable gloves when handling dirty laundry from a person who is sick.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Dirty laundry from a person who is sick can be washed with other people’s items.</span></li>
</ul>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Further, the CDC provides additional steps to take when someone is sick:</span></p>
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The person who is sick should stay separated from other people in the home as much as is possible. If possible, they should have a separate bedroom, bathroom and their own trash can. If able, the person who is sick should clean their own space. Otherwise, the caregiver should wait as long as possible before cleaning and disinfecting.</span></li>
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you have a separate bedroom and bathroom: Wear disposable gloves and only clean the area around the person who is sick when needed, such as when the area is soiled. This will help limit contact with the person who is sick.</span></li>
