<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><strong>Correction:</strong><span style="font-weight: 400;"> Gentara Bennett is 19 years old. The</span><em><span style="font-weight: 400;"> original release incorrectly stated Bennett was 46.</span></em></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">At approximately 2:53 p.m. on May 19, Columbia police responded to a report of a stabbing in front of Lowe’s, located at 201-A Conley Road. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Upon arrival, officers made contact with a female victim, 43, who was transported to a local hospital by emergency medical services to treat non-life threatening injuries. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The suspect was identified as Gentara Bennett, 19, of Columbia. Officers located Bennett inside Sam’s Club, located at 101 Conley Road. At this time, the weapon used is unknown. Bennett was arrested for assault in the first degree, armed criminal action and resisting arrest. There is no known connection between the victim and the suspect.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This case is an ongoing investigation and is being handled by detectives in the Criminal Investigation Division. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Anyone with information about this incident is urged to please contact the Columbia Police Department at 573.874.7652 or CrimeStoppers at 573.875.TIPS (8477) to remain anonymous. </span></p>
