<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <br /><strong>Wednesday, May 27 summary</strong><br />The number of positive cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Boone County is currently 138 with 107 who have been released from isolation at the time of publishing. After the press release update on Wednesday, May 27, Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services staff discovered that two of the cases the state assigned to Boone County were not residents of Boone County. Additionally, another positive case was reported Wednesday evening, bringing the number of new cases on Wednesday to 6 instead of 7 with a total number of cases at 129 instead of 130. There are 9 new cases from the previous press release update and the number released from isolation has increased by 2. Below is information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) about emergency warning signs for COVID-19. Also below is information
about the Convention and Visitors Bureau office reopening next week with limited hours.<br /><br /><strong>Cases in Boone County</strong><br />

<li>Trouble breathing</li>
<li>Persistent pain or pressure in the chest</li>
<li>New confusion</li>
<li>Inability to wake or stay awake</li>
<li>Bluish lips or face</li>
</ul>
<br />The CDC states that this list is not all possible symptoms and they recommend to call a medical provider for any other symptoms that are severe or concerning. When calling 911, the CDC advises to notify the operator that the person may have COVID-19.<br /><br /><strong>Changes to City services</strong><br /><em>Columbia Convention and Visitors Bureau</em><br />The Convention and Visitors Bureau office, 300 S. Providence Road, will open to the public, with limited lobby hours, beginning the week of June 1. The lobby will be limited to a maximum of 10 people at a time with the following hours:<br />Monday/Wednesday/Friday from 8 a.m. to noon<br />Tuesday/Thursday from noon to 5 p.m.<br /><br /><br />Official information from the City of Columbia and Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services (PHHS) can be found at <a href="http://www.como.gov/Coronavirus">CoMo.gov/Coronavirus</a>.
