<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <br /><strong>Thursday, June 11 summary</strong><br />The number of positive cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Boone County is currently 204 with 161 who have been released from isolation at the time of publishing. An additional 3 cases were reported on June 10, bringing the Wednesday daily total to 201. There are 3 additional new cases and the number released from isolation has increased by 3. There are currently 41 active cases. Below is information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) about how to properly clean and disinfect homes.<br /><br /><strong>Cases in Boone County</strong><br />

<ul>
<li>Wear reusable or disposable gloves for routine cleaning and disinfection.</li>
<li>Clean surfaces using soap and water, then use disinfectant.</li>
<li>Practice routine cleaning of frequently touched surfaces such as: Tables, doorknobs, light switches, countertops, handles, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets, faucets, sinks, etc.
<ul>
<li>For electronic devices, consider using a wipeable cover.</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Launder clothing, towels, linens and other items according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Use the warmest appropriate water setting and dry items completely.
<ul>
<li>Wear disposable gloves when handling dirty laundry from a person who is sick.</li>
<li>Dirty laundry from a person who is sick can be washed with other people’s items.</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>
Further, the CDC provides additional steps to take when someone is sick:<br />
<ul>
<li>The person who is sick should stay separated from other people in the home as much as is possible. If possible, they should have a separate bedroom, bathroom and their own trash can. If able, the person who is sick should clean their own space. Otherwise, the caregiver should wait as long as possible before cleaning and disinfecting.
<ul>
<li>If you have a separate bedroom and bathroom: Wear disposable gloves and only clean the area around the person who is sick when needed, such as when the area is soiled. This will help limit contact with the person who is sick.</li>
</ul>
