<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">On Monday, June 15, the City of Columbia City Council approved the reinstatement of charging for parking and the enforcement of parking meter payments beginning Tuesday, June 16. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Council also approved a pilot program wherein metered spots around the downtown community will be designated solely as curbside pick-up or carryout spots to assist businesses and their customers.</span></p>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Parking enforcement was originally suspended on March 19, at the beginning of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in Columbia. This was done to </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">assist in not overwhelming the Municipal Court system once operations went back to normal and to help the downtown business community in their efforts to provide carry-out services and curbside pick-up.</span></div>
