<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <br /><strong>Wednesday, June 17 summary</strong><br />The number of positive cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Boone County is currently 232 with 187 who have been released from isolation at the time of publishing. There are 8 new cases from the previous press release update and the number released from isolation has increased by 4. There are currently 43 active cases. Below is information from Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services (PHHS) about possible public exposure of coronavirus at the Brookside Midtown pool.<br /><br /><strong>Cases in Boone County</strong><br />

Walnut, Friday, June 12, 2020. People who were at the pool that day are advised to monitor for symptoms consistent with the virus, as they may have been in close contact with someone who was infectious at that time.<br />Those symptoms include:<br />

<li>Fever or chills</li>
<li>Cough</li>
<li>Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing</li>
<li>Fatigue</li>
<li>Muscle or body aches</li>
<li>Headache</li>
<li>New loss of taste or smell</li>
<li>Sore throat</li>
<li>Congestion or runny nose</li>
<li>Nausea or vomiting</li>
<li>Diarrhea</li>
<li>If you develop symptoms, please contact your health care provider, get tested and remain at home away from others while awaiting results. If you test positive, you will be asked to quarantine for 14 days. </li>
</ul>

In order to protect the health of Boone County residents, PHHS is issuing this information in an effort to inform those who may have been exposed to the virus and to prevent further spread.
