<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px; margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">Columbia police arrest one suspect after vehicle collision near West Boulevard and Stadium on June 30</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">At approximately 9:25 a.m., on June 30, officers were dispatched to the Bryant Walkway Apartments in response to a keep the peace incident. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">While on scene, officers learned that a 29 year-old female had been a victim of domestic violence by her husband earlier that morning near Buttonwood Drive. The victim told officers she wanted to make sure her husband was not at her apartment located at Bryant Walkway Apartments.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">While on scene, officers observed the husband’s vehicle driving past the victim’s house. The husband was identified as Morris McDonald, 34 of Columbia, who was driving a Silver Toyota 4Runner.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Officers saw the vehicle driving south on Trinity Place to Park Avenue and were able to locate the vehicle again on Locust Street and Providence Road where the suspect stopped his vehicle. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Officers initiated commands, the suspect refused and continued to flee taking off at a high rate of speed. Officers initiated a pursuit, following the suspect less than two blocks before terminating the pursuit on Rollins and Providence Road. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Shortly after, officers were notified that the suspect had crashed on MO-740 (Stadium Boulevard) and West Boulevard and was asking other motorists for rides. The suspect’s efforts proved to be unsuccessful and he continued to flee on foot. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Officers were able to establish a perimeter, and with the assistance of a Boone County Sheriff's Department K-9, a track was conducted. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">McDonald was located in an unconscious state in an abandoned building near West Winds Park. Officers immediately assessed the situation and after administering Narcan, he became responsive. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">McDonald was transported to a local hospital to be evaluated and after he is medically released, he will be arrested and transported to Boone County Jail for the following: two outstanding arrest warrants for fourth degree domestic assault and drug trafficking, second degree domestic assault, first degree tampering, resisting arrest, second degree burglary, steady red light violation, third degree kidnapping, careless and imprudent driving, felony leaving the scene, and pending narcotic violations.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This is an active investigation and there are no further details to provide at this time.
