<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px; margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">Columbia Police investigate shots fired near Douglass Park, 400 N Providence Rd.; Patrol vehicles crash while responding, Aug. 25</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Columbia Police responded to a report of shots fired near Douglass Park, located at 400 N. Providence Rd. at approximately 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Upon arrival, officers located one adult male victim lying on the ground near Douglass Park who had sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound. There were approximately 100 people on the scene.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Officers and civilians rendered aid to the victim identified as Corey Jordan, 51, of Columbia, until medics arrived. Jordan was transported to a local hospital and died as a result of his injuries. Next of kin has been notified.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The suspect has been identified as Rickey L. Murry, 48, who is a black male, 5’11" and weighs approximately 220 pounds. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Murry was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and traveling eastbound from the scene on foot. He is wanted on a no bond warrant for first degree murder and armed criminal action and is considered to be armed and dangerous.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Detectives were assisted by Crime Scene Investigators, K-9 Unit, Street Crimes Unit, Violent Crimes Task Force, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Prior to arrival, other officers were responding to the call when two patrol vehicles crashed at the intersection of Sixth and Walnut streets. Both patrol vehicles had visual emergency lights and the audible siren activated. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">All three officers sustained minor injuries and were treated on the scene. Both patrol vehicles were damaged to the extent that they had to be towed away. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This is an ongoing investigation. There are no further details to provide at this time. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you know something, say something.
