<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px; margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">Columbia police arrest one suspect involved in shooting incident downtown Columbia, One injured, Aug 29</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">At approximately 12:41 a.m. on Aug. 29, Columbia police responded to a report of a disturbance near the intersection of 10th and Broadway, which was followed by shots fired. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Upon arrival, officers located one adult male victim who reported being shot several times. The victim had several gunshot wounds and was transported to a local hospital to treat his injuries.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">While on scene, officers located several shell casings in the area and collected witness statements.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">During the investigation witnesses shared information that allowed officers to track the suspect’s vehicle, described as a white four-door sedan. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Officers initiated a pursuit of the suspect vehicle across East Columbia and ended in the 4400 block of Santa Barbara Drive. During the pursuit, members of the Boone County Sheriff's Department and Missouri State Highway Patrol assisted. Upon conclusion of the pursuit, officers located the suspect and took him into custody. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The suspect has been identified as Chad L. Thomas, 30 of Columbia. He is currently in custody and charges are pending as this is an ongoing investigation. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Columbia police would like to thank the community for their assistance in this case which helped lead to a quick arrest.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This case has been forwarded to the Criminal Investigation Division. There are no additional details to provide at this moment.</span></p>
