<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">Columbia Police finds a reported bomb threat unsubstantiated, Jan. 8</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Columbia Police was dispatched to a reported bomb threat on Jan. 8 at approximately 1 a.m. It was reported that the bomb was in a building on the Stephens College campus in the 1200 block of East Broadway.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Officers learned the building was empty and established a large perimeter around it to keep any pedestrian and vehicle traffic at a safe distance.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">A search of the building found no evidence of an explosive device. At this time, there is nothing known to suggest any validity relating to this threat.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Columbia Police wants to thank several agencies that assisted during this investigation, including the Columbia Police Bomb Squad, Columbia Fire Department, University of Missouri Police Department and Stephens College Security.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This is an ongoing investigation. More information may become available at a later time.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Columbia Police encourages the public to remain vigilant. Any local business, organization or individual who receives a potential threat to public safety should report it to local law enforcement.</span></p>
