<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px; margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">Residential structure fire in the 200 block of Ruby Ln. on Jan. 11, one fatality reported</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Columbia Police Department and the Columbia Fire Department were dispatched to a structure fire at a residence in the 200 block of Ruby Ln.at approximately 10:40 a.m. on Jan. 11.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">CPD arrived at the residence and observed smoke and flames through a window of a room in the rear of the residence. Fire crews brought the fire under control in about five minutes. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">During the investigation, it was learned the fire was confined to one room and caused significant damage. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">A body was located in the room and was identified as George Ray Grant, 66, of Columbia. Next of kin has been notified. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">A second person had been inside the residence and escaped the fire with minor injuries. At this time, no foul play is suspected. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The cause of death will not be determined until further investigation. More information may become available at a later time.</span></p>
