<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">City offices closed Jan. 18 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, City Council meeting scheduled for Jan. 19</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - City offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 18, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The regular City Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 19.<br /><br />Residential curbside trash will not be collected on the observed holiday and will be delayed by one day the remainder of the week. Residents can download the COMO Recycle and Trash App for collection day reminders and service notifications. Questions concerning the collection schedule should be directed to the Contact Center at 573.874.CITY (2489). The landfill will also be closed on Monday.<br /><br />Go COMO, Columbia's public transit system, will not operate, and parking meter regulations will not be enforced on the observed holiday. Although administrative offices for both the police and fire departments will be closed, all other emergency services will be available.<br /><br />Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Servic
 es (PHHS) will not update COVID-19 numbers on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. PHHS will not update numbers on Saturday or Sunday, as they are no longer reporting on the weekends. The information hub at <a href="http://www.CoMo.gov/Coronavirus">CoMo.gov/Coronavirus</a>. will be updated on Tuesday, Jan. 19.<br /><br />The City's Activity & Recreation Center (ARC) will operate at normal hours on Monday, 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Parks and Recreation will not hold its annual <a href="https://www.como.gov/CMS/pressreleases/view.php?id=7239">Candlelight March and Memorial</a> celebration. Instead, residents are encouraged to honor Dr. King by having their own candlelight marches in their neighborhoods. Marches should be planned safely with only members of the same household in a group. <br /><br />Please visit <a href="https://www.como.gov/utilities/">CoMo.gov/Utilities</a> for phone numbers to contact staff regarding emergencies related to Water &am
