<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">City of Columbia Public Works plow crews reported at 9 a.m., Feb 6, in anticipation of the winter weather expected today and have begun pretreating routes. Snow is expected to develop midday and continue through late evening. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">The crew will focus on first, second and third priority routes.  <br /><br /></span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Total accumulation is currently forecast to be between two to three inches. Pavement temperatures are anticipated to fall below freezing after the onset of precipitation. Extreme cold temperatures may reduce the effectiveness of road treatments. Motorists are encouraged to use prudent winter weather driving with an expectation of slick areas.<br /><br /></span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Whenever snow accumulates more than two inches, vehicles parked al
 ong designated snow routes must be moved off of the roadway or risk a fine of $100 plus towing and storage charges. To be notified when it snows two inches or more, individuals may sign up for alerts at Nixle.com or by texting COLUMBIAPW to 888-777.<br /><br /></span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Public Works and City staff will continue to closely monitor road conditions and adjust operational plans as needed. As winter weather can be unpredictable, residents are encouraged to closely monitor the forecast and changing road conditions throughout the mid-Missouri area. Motorists are advised to drive with caution.<br /><br /></span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Additional updates will be available via press release, on the City's social media pages and CoMoSnow.com.</span></p></div>
