<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Columbia Police have arrested 28 year-old Jeffrey McWilliams of Columbia for the charges of second degree murder, first degree robbery and armed criminal action for his involvement in a homicide that took place in the 1900 block of Lasso Circ. in December 2017.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">At approximately</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"> 3:37 a.m. on Dec. 11, 2017, Columbia Police responded to a report of a suspicious person in the 1900 block of Lasso Circle. Officers arrived on scene and found a male subject unconscious and not breathing. Officers on scene rendered aid to the male until medical personnel arrived on scene and pronounced the male dead. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">During the course of the investigation, </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">the male victim was identified as Augustus Jackson Roberts, 28, of Columbia. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Columbia Police Department Detectives and the Forensic Evidence Unit were called to the 1900 block of Lasso Circle to gather information and process the crime scene. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Investigators believed this home invasion was drug-related and this residence was targeted by the suspects.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This is an ongoing investigation and is being handled by the Department’s Criminal Investigation Division. More information may become available at a later time.</span></p>
