<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">Boone County records 25 additional COVID-related deaths after data reconciliation</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services (PHHS) has recorded 25 additional COVID-19 related deaths, for a total of 116 deaths in Boone County since the start of the pandemic. These deaths were added after reconciling data across multiple data systems and include both PCR test-confirmed deaths and antigen test-confirmed deaths. The deaths occurred between November 2020 and April 2021. <br /><br />The age ranges for the deaths were from 55 to 80+ with the majority of the newly recorded deaths being in the over 80 age group.<br /><br />"We are sad to learn of additional lives lost due to this virus that has impacted the community for more than a year," PHHS Director Stephanie Browning said. "Our thoughts are with the friends and family members of those who died from COVID-19."<br /><br />COVID-19 deaths are defined as those that had COVID-19 listed as a contribut
 ing factor on the person’s death certificate. PHHS will reconcile the data on a regular basis to ensure the information is up to date. These deaths will appear on the <a href="https://gocolumbiamo.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MapSeries/index.html?appid=478880b83d5e4d35b646d80fe6f2c2f6" target="_blank">Information Hub</a> on Wednesday afternoon.</div>
