<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">City of Columbia Public Works crews will begin installing traffic calming features on North William Street and Hinkson Avenue on Monday, June 21. Work is scheduled to be completed by Thursday, June 24, weather permitting. Flaggers will be present to assist motorists through the workzone while crews are working. Minor delays are possible. <br /><br /></span><span style="font-weight: 400;">The North William Street/Hinkson Avenue Calming project is intended to use traffic calming devices to lower operating speeds on William Street from Paris Road to Broadway as well as Hinkson Avenue from Paris Road to Old 63. North William Street was No. 2 on the 2018 Neighborhood Traffic Management Program Priority List while Hinkson Avenue was No. 3. Previous interested parties meetings were held on Oct. 15, 2019 and on Sept. 2, 2020 with an online int
 erested parties meeting held from March 1 through March 12, 2021.  City Council approved this project after the public hearing held on May 3, 2021.<br /><br /></span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Investment for this project is estimated at $50,000 paid for by the annual traffic calming funds. More information may be found on the project page at </span><a href="https://www.como.gov/publicworks/william-hinkson-calming/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">CoMo.gov/publicworks/william-hinkson-calming/</span></a></p></div>
