<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The City of Columbia has adopted a Strategic Plan that outlines specific goals as well as actions to meet them. The Columbia City Council approved the plan at its meeting on Tuesday, July 6. <br /><br />The Strategic Plan was developed with the input from approximately 65 front-line City of Columbia staff members, as well as feedback from 138 residents who participated in focus groups.<br /><br />This Plan clearly outlines the City’s mission statement, vision statement and core values. The plan also contains five priority areas: organizational excellence, safe neighborhoods, reliable infrastructure, inclusive community and resilient economy. <br /><br />"The Plan’s priorities, outcome objectives, performance measures and action items work together to define what we hope to achieve, how we plan to achieve it and how we will measure our progress," said Assistant City M
 anager Carol Rhodes. <br /><br />As part of the plan, the City will be building a performance management system, or a dashboard, to measure the progress being made. This dashboard will be revealed in the coming months and is an important step in holding the City accountable for the goals it has set forth.<br /><br />"This plan focuses on the entire community. Having the Strategic Plan will help us determine if the decisions we make moving forward fit into the priorities our residents and staff have outlined," said City Manager John Glascock. <br /><br />More information on the Strategic Plan can be found at <a href="https://www.como.gov/">CoMo.gov</a>.</div>
