<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - Beginning Monday, July 19 at 7 a.m., Emery Sapp and Sons, contractor for the City of Columbia Public Works Department, will be removing and permanently closing a portion of Sugar Grove Road as part of the Discovery Parkway Extension Project.<br /><br />The Discovery Parkway extension connects the Gans Road Overpass to Rolling Hills Road. The new segment will provide a continuous major collector between Interstate-70, at Lake of the Woods, to U.S. Highway 63. <br /><br />The investment for this project is estimated at $6,822,000 paid for by the 1/4-Cent Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Sales Tax, and the Governor’s Transportation Cost Share Federal Aid Grant. More information on this project may be found at <a href="https://www.como.gov/publicworks/discovery-parkway/">CoMo.gov/publicworks/discovery-parkway/</a>.</div>
