<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Columbia Police have arrested Mark Lindell Martin, 57, of Columbia, for enticement of a child, 4th-degree assault and 2nd-degree harassment. Martin has been remanded in the custody of Boone County Jail. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Columbia Police were dispatched to a report of an attempted kidnapping in the area of Hyde Park Avenue and Cooper Drive on Thursday, Aug. 26 at approximately 11:10 a.m. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">During the investigation, officers learned that a female juvenile was at a bus stop when a vehicle approached her. The juvenile began walking away as the driver began talking to her. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">While the juvenile was walking away the driver exited the vehicle and began walking toward her. The juvenile began screaming, which drew the attention of people nearby. The suspect then began driving away. The juvenile was taken to a safe place until reunited with her family.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Police arrived and were able to locate the suspect a short distance away. He was taken into custody</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">There were no injuries during this incident. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This is an ongoing investigation. More information may become available at a later time.</span></p>
