<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - Beginning Monday, Sept. 20 at 7 a.m., Emery Sapp and Sons, contractor for the City of Columbia Public Works Department, will close a portion of Lenoir Street for construction of the Lenoir Street Improvements project. A portion of both driving lanes between Sugar Grove Road and Discovery Drive will be closed during construction and thru traffic will not be permitted. The project is scheduled to be completed by early winter, weather permitting.<br /><br />The project includes improving the roadway connection between Discovery Drive and Lenoir Street by lessening the curve. The project also adds curb and gutter, bike lanes, sidewalk and a waterline relocation. <br /><br />The investment for this project is estimated at $1,440,700 paid for by the 1/4-Cent Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Sales Tax, Developer Contribution, ABC Lab Tax Credit and Donation.
