<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px; margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">Sewer Utility schedules Interested Parties Meeting to discuss pump station maintenance</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The City of Columbia Sewer Utility has scheduled an Interested Parties meeting to discuss proposed plans to construct mechanical screen at Wetland Pump Station No. 3. The meeting is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. October 6, 2021, in the conference room at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. <br /><br />Debris obstructs incoming wastewater at wetland treatment unit No. 3 effluent pump station. The debris must be manually removed, which is labor-intensive and can be hazardous in icy conditions during the winter months. To solve this concern, the Stormwater Utility is proposing the design and construction of an automated bar screen system that will remove debris and divert it to the side of the pump station, where is can be more easily removed.<br /><br />At the meeting, information and diagrams showing preliminary concepts will be available for public review, and Sewer Utility staff
will be present to answer questions.<br /><br />Social distancing guidelines will be in place for the meeting.<br /><br />Investment in this project is estimated at about $2 million, which will be paid for by Sewer enterprise funds.<br /><br />Utilities staff may be contacted via the Sewer Utility's number at 573.441.5530 or via email at zachary.nikin@como.gov.</div>
