<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><strong>Date/Time:</strong><span style="font-weight: 400;"> Saturday, Nov. 6 at approximately 6:40 p.m.</span></p>
<p><strong>Location:</strong><span style="font-weight: 400;"> 1000 block of US Highway 63 North, southbound</span></p>
<p><strong>Vehicle 1:</strong><span style="font-weight: 400;"> 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD pickup towing a 12-foot utility trailer. </span></p>
<p><strong>Driver 1:</strong><span style="font-weight: 400;"> Adult male, Jefferson City, MO, no injuries, seatbelt. </span></p>
<p><strong>Pedestrian 1: </strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">Cassandra A. Shafer, 54, Columbia, MO, fatal Injuries. Next of kin has been notified.</span></p>
<p><strong>Incident Details:</strong></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The crash occurred as Vehicle 1 drove south in the passing lane in the 1000 block of US Highway 63 North. Pedestrian 1 was crossing US Highway 63 in that block, walking from west to east. Vehicle 1 struck Pedestrian 1 in the passing lane of traffic.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Pedestrian 1 was pronounced dead at the scene.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This is an ongoing investigation. More information may become available at a later time.</span></p>
