<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - After review, recommendation, and authorization from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), booster doses of COVID-19 vaccines are recommended for anyone aged 18 or older. <br /><br />The boosters are recommended for Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines 6 months after completing the primary vaccination series. Boosters for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine are recommended at least two months after the initial dose.<br /><br />Previously, booster doses were only recommended for those 65 or older, people with certain underlying medical conditions and those who lived or worked in high-risk settings.<br /><br />Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services, 1005 W. Worley St., will have appointment-only COVID-19 vaccination clinics at the office on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will not be a clinic Saturday, Nov. 27. These clin
ics will be for anyone who needs any dose in the series (first, second, third or booster dose) of the Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson vaccines. Individuals 5 years old and older are eligible for the Pfizer vaccine while the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are available for individuals aged 18 and older. Appointments are required and can be scheduled here: <a href="http://www.CoMo.gov/Health/Covid19-Vaccine-Appointments">CoMo.gov/Health/Covid19-Vaccine-Appointments</a>. Vaccines are free and do not require health insurance.<br /><br />COVID-19 vaccines are widely available in Boone County.
