<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Columbia Parks and Recreation is holding a public input meeting regarding capital improvements at Columbia Cosmopolitan Recreation Area (Cosmo Park), 1615 Business Loop 70 West.</span> <span style="font-weight: 400;">The drop-in meeting will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 18, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Activity & Recreation Center (ARC), 1701 W. Ash Street.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Columbia Parks and Recreation has three capital improvement projects at Cosmo Park that require public input. The first is the replacement of the toddler playground currently located near Nickell Shelter, which is designed for use by children 2 to 5 years old. Plans include the replacement of the play structure and swings, new walkways and installation of a park bench and picnic table. The playground will be relocated southwest of the existing location allowing for a larger play area and improved drainage. The project is funded by the 2015 Park Sales Tax.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The second capital improvement project at Cosmo Park will include improvements to three shelters at the park and adjacent parking. The project includes the demolition and replacement of Burford Shelter and renovations to Lamb and Nickell Shelters. Park staff will also coordinate parking lot improvements in the area of the shelters including asphalt overlay and striping. The project is funded by the 2021 Park Sales Tax.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The third capital improvement project is improvements to the Cosmo fitness trail, which will include an asphalt overlay of the existing 10-foot wide trail and updating the 10 existing benches along the trail. This work is also funded by the 2021 Park Sales Tax.</span></p>
