<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services (PHHS) is changing how COVID-19 data is reported and presented on the Information Hub. The change comes as a steep increase in positive COVID-19 cases in Boone County have become unmanageable for PHHS staff under the previous data reporting system. The new system will provide residents and community partners with the most accurate data available during the current surge in cases.<br /><br />PHHS will now report data based on the date the COVID-19 test was collected with a 48-hour delay. This shows the number of people who tested positive on a specific date. There is a lag between when an individual is tested and when results are available. The data reported will be preliminary and subject to change as new information becomes available. As more results are available, the date of test collected data will be updated on the Information Hub. <b
r /><br />PHHS will no longer report the number of current active cases, the number of cases by date of test result and the total number of cases removed from isolation. Additionally, PHHS will no longer report the number of Boone County residents hospitalized. The number of current total positive case hospitalizations in Boone County hospitals will continue to be reported, which includes Boone County residents. Previously, the data reported on PHHS social media pages was based on the date of test result.<br /><br />All other data on the Information Hub will remain available.<br /><br />PHHS will be adding the number of positive at-home COVID-19 tests reported through the new online system to the Information Hub. The online reporting system launched Jan. 20. Boone County residents can report their positive at-home tests at <a href="https://redcap.como.gov/surveys/?s=AALNETYJNC">https://redcap.como.gov/surveys/?s=AALNETYJNC</a>.<br /><br />The changes will be reflected on
the Information Hub in the coming days. The Information Hub can be found by visiting h<a href="ttps://gocolumbiamo.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MapSeries/index.html?appid=478880b83d5e4d35b646d80fe6f2c2f6">ttps://gocolumbiamo.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MapSeries/index.html?appid=478880b83d5e4d35b646d80fe6f2c2f6</a>.<br /><br />When reviewing positive COVID-19 cases in the calendar year 2021 (ending Dec. 30, 2021) compared to the data in the current year (beginning Dec. 31, 2021), preliminary numbers show 10,348 positive tests so far in 2022. That’s compared to 15,086 cases in 2021. The cases in 2022 are equal to 68.59% of cases reported in 2021.<br /><br />There will be a Zoom at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26 for members of the media who would like to ask questions about the changes.
