<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">City of Columbia plow crews continue to respond to an ongoing winter weather event Feb. 4</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - Columbia Public Works has completed its work hauling away snow from the downtown area overnight, and would like to report that 85% of subwards have now been plowed to a passable state, meaning at least one travel lane is accessible for a front wheel drive vehicle traveling at speeds well below the normal posted speed limits. Starting at 7 a.m. on Feb. 4, a 40-person plow crew began duty and will continue to focus on plowing neighborhood and priority roads.<br /><br />We expect temperatures Friday to rise to 30 degrees, activating salt already applied to the roads. This will begin to release the snowpack, causing it to fluff and slush up. When this occurs, we advise motorists to drive slowly and to use caution, especially on curves in the roadway, as slush can make driving conditions slippery.<br /><br />Plow crews will continue to focus on plowing residential streets during the day on Friday and wi
 ll also work to address any priority routes as needed. We anticipate lifting priority road parking restrictions sometime around noon on Friday, and we will announce when this happens via Nixle text alert as well as over social media.<br /><br />Public Works and City staff will continue to closely monitor road conditions and adjust operational plans as needed. Additional updates and information will be available via press releases, on the City's social media pages and at CoMoSnow.com.</div>
