(COLUMBIA, MO) -

Streets
Contact: John Ogan, John.Ogan@CoMo.gov
A 31-person City of Columbia Public Works snow plow crew reported for duty at 7 a.m., relieving the overnight crew. Plow crews will continue to treat and plow residential streets throughout the day Friday.

As temperatures rise Friday morning, some plow trucks will return to plowing priority streets as the snowpack begins to break up. It is at this point that snow on the roadway will begin to fluff and slush up and will need to be plowed away. When this breakup of the snowpack starts to occur, motorists are advised to drive with extreme caution since the chances for slickness will increase, especially on curves in the road.

We appreciate the community's cooperation to continue to travel only when necessary, to drive at low speeds and to avoi
d parking on snow routes. Priority route parking restrictions are expected to be lifted Friday afternoon.

Transit
Contact: John Ogan, John.Ogan@CoMo.gov
Go COMO bus service is operating at a normal capacity at this time. We will evaluate operational changes as the day progresses.

Solid Waste
Contact: Matt Nestor, Matthew.Nestor@CoMo.gov
Residential refuse and recycling collection routes are being run as scheduled Friday, Feb. 18.

Columbia Regional Airport (COU)
Contact: Mike Parks, Michael.Parks@CoMo.gov
The airport is closed as crews continue to remove large amounts of ice and snow from the airport’s runways. Once removal is complete, airlines will be able to determine flight status for passengers.
