<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">Columbia Police investigate shots fired with injury in the 100 block of Poplar Hill Drive, March 5</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Columbia Police arrested Tyler Jacob Matthews, 21, of Columbia for two counts of assault, unlawful use of a weapon, endangering the welfare of a child and resisting arrest. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">On Saturday, March 5 at approximately 2 p.m., Columbia Police were dispatched to the area of the 100 block of Poplar Hill Drive in reference to a report of shots fired.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Officers arrived on the scene and observed a male armed with a rifle. Officers immediately ordered the subject to put the firearm down. The male, who was identified as Matthews, put the rifle down but resisted officers while he was taken into custody. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Officers located one adult male victim with an injury. He was found to be in stable condition. Emergency personnel arrived, performed patient care and transported the victim to a local hospital. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This is an ongoing investigation being handled by the department’s Criminal Investigations Division. More information may become available at a later time.</span></p>
