<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The City of Columbia will work with Room at the Inn (RATI) to provide shelter at the City of Columbia Northeast Regional Park (formerly known as Boone County Fairgrounds). RATI will utilize the coliseum at the park to provide an emergency winter shelter for those experiencing homelessness through April 2. <br /><br />Room at the Inn will move to Northeast Regional Park beginning Saturday, March 12. <br /><br />"As we see a continued demand for shelter during winter weather for our unsheltered community, both the City and Room at the Inn recognize the importance of continuing to provide a safe space for individuals to use," City Manager De'Carlon Seewood said. "The Northeast Regional Park will provide a large space for RATI to utilize for the remainder of this winter season that will provide protection for our most vulnerable population. It is important to the City that individuals experie
ncing homelessness have access to resources and shelter during this especially difficult time of year."<br /><br />As a reminder, the City also contracts with the following providers for shelter services:<br /><br />
<ul>
<li>Salvation Army Harbor House (men, women and families), 602 N. Ann St.</li>
<li>True North (for domestic violence), please call 573.875.1370</li>
<li>Turning Point (day shelter 7 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday), 702 Wilkes Blvd.</li>
</ul>
Additional emergency shelters in Columbia include:<br /><br />
<ul>
<li>Welcome Home (for veterans), 2120 Business Loop 70 E.</li>
<li>St. Francis House (for men), 901 Range Line St. - must be vaccinated to stay overnight</li>
<li>Rainbow House (for children/youth), 1611 Towne Dr.</li>
<li>Flourish (for youth), please call 573.615.6135</li>
</ul>
Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services also coordinates a network of warming and cooling centers in the community during extreme temperatures. There are several locations in Columbia available to those who need shelter from the extreme cold. Warming centers are available to the general public during the building's normal business hours. The public is allowed access to public areas, such as lobbies, restrooms, drinking fountains, etc.<br /><br />Columbia's warming centers include:<br /><br />

<li>ARC (Activity and Recreation Center), 1701 W. Ash St.</li>
<li>Boone County Government Center, 801 E. Walnut St.</li>
<li>Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services, 1005 W. Worley St.</li>

<li>Salvation Army, 1108 W. Ash St.</li>
<li>Salvation Army Harbor House, 602 N. Ann St.</li>
<li>St. Francis House, 901 Range Line St.</li>
<li>Wabash Bus Station, 126 N. 10th St. </li>
