<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">Columbia City Council approves raises for all permanent City employees</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - At the Monday, May 16, City Council meeting, Council voted to approve mid-year pay adjustments for all unrepresented permanent employees.<br /><br />Following this vote, the budget will be amended to provide a 3% increase across the board for permanent employees. The change will take effect during the current pay period. <br /><br />The mid-year adjustments were also approved for several labor groups, while others continue negotiations. <br /><br />The Council also approved a one-time retention pay benefit for employees who remained dedicated to City service during the COVID-19 pandemic. <br /><br />Permanent employees that have been actively and continuously employed with the City since March 8, 2020, through June 26, 2022, will receive a $1,500 one-time retention payment. <br /><br />Permanent employees that were hired after March 8, 2020, but hired on or before Jan. 9, 2022, 
 and have been actively and continuously employed with the City through June 26, 2022, will receive a $750 one-time retention payment.<br /><br />City Manager De'Carlon Seewood has identified employees and employee compensation as a priority for the upcoming fiscal year. <br /><br />"Employees are our top priority at the City," Seewood said. "Organizational excellence is the first priority area in our Strategic Plan, and having competitive salaries will allow us to create and support a workforce that is engaged and delivers services in an innovative and efficient manner to residents."<br /><br />Seewood added that individuals looking for employment opportunities should consider applying at the City of Columbia.<br /><br />"The City has many positions in different fields and departments with great opportunities for growth within the organization," Seewood said. <br /><br />If you are interested in applying for a job at the City, visit <a href="https://www.como.gov/CMS
