(COLUMBIA, MO) -
On May 26 members of the U.S. Marshals Service located and arrested Maurice D. Banks, Jr. in Las Vegas for his involvement in the 2020 homicide of Jermaine Spain.

Banks, 19, of Columbia, was charged with second-degree murder, first-degree assault and armed criminal action in connection to the homicide that occurred at Cosmopolitan Recreation Area Park, 1615 Business Loop 70 West, on Nov. 2, 2020.

Assistant Chief Jeremiah Hunter said the arrest reflects both the persistence of the Department’s detectives and patrol officers and the good working relationship among law enforcement agencies.
