<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">Columbia Police arrest suspect connected to shots fired in the 3800 block of Rock Quarry Road, June 29</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - Columbia Police have arrested Ryan David Osterberger, 31, of Columbia, for first-degree assault, first-degree burglary, armed criminal action, unlawful possession of a firearm, and resisting arrest for a felony.<br /><br />On June 28 at approximately 5:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 3800 block of Rock Quarry Road in reference to a report of shots fired.<br /><br />Officers learned that a male later identified as Osterberger had entered an unlocked home and was confronted by a resident who pursued Osterberger after he had exited. <br /><br />It was reported that Osterberger attempted to hit the resident with a vehicle and that the resident then fired a shot at the vehicle.<br /><br />Patrol officers discovered the vehicle while searching the area and found that Osterberger had fled on foot. The vehicle was also found to have sustained damage from the gunshot.<br /><br />K9 officers from th
 e Boone County Sheriff’s Office assisted in trying to locate Osterberger. The Columbia Police drone team also responded to provide assistance to officers who were conducting the search on foot.<br /><br />While officers were initially unable to locate Osterberger, further investigation led to his being arrested at 12:31 a.m., June 29.<br /><br />The investigation is ongoing and more information may become available at a later time.<br /><br />If you know something, say something. Columbia Police are asking for your help. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to please contact the Columbia Police Department at 573.874.7652.<br /><br />To report a tip without including your name or contact information, call CrimeStoppers at 573.875.TIPS (8477). A tip that leads to an arrest or helps solve a felony crime could result in a cash reward.<br /><br />
