<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - Capital Paving, contractors for the City of Columbia Public Works department, are scheduled to perform mill and overlay pavement maintenance on the following City streets beginning Wednesday, July 20, at 6 a.m.:<br /><br />
<ul>
<li>Curtis Avenue</li>
<li>Kentucky Boulevard</li>
<li>Burnam Avenue</li>
<li>Matthews Street</li>
<li>Dorsey Street</li>
<li>Willis Avenue</li>
<li>Rangeline Street between Wilkes Street and Rogers Street</li>
<li>Wilkes between North Providence Road and North Seventh Street</li>
<li>North Seventh Street between Wilkes Street and Business Loop 70 East</li>
</ul>
The mill and overlay process involves milling off the top of the pavement surface and then applying a layer of asphalt. This process creates a smooth driving surface and can extend the life of the roadway for an additional six to 20 years. <br /><br />Crews plan to work daily from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. "No parking" signs will be posted one week in advance on all streets planned for treatment. Please refrain from parking your vehicles on signed streets during working hours.<br /><br />Temporary lane closures will be required. Traffic control signs and flaggers will be present to assist motorists through work zones as needed. Motorists and pedestrians should use caution in work zones and find alternate routes if possible.<br /><br />Maintenance is scheduled to be completed by Friday, July 29, at 4:30 p.m., weather permitting.</div>
