<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The City of Columbia will host a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the construction of Fire Station No. 11 Tuesday, Sept. 27, at 3 p.m. Members of the public are invited to attend.<br /><br />The ceremony will take place at the location where Fire Station No. 11 is being built, 6909 Scott Blvd. <br /><br />Construction of the fire station is being funded by the 2015 &frac14; cent capital improvement sales tax. The project is currently underway, as workers are preparing the grounds for the laying of the building's foundation.  <br /><br />Columbia Mayor Barbara Buffaloe, Ward 5 Council Member Matt Pitzer and Acting Fire Chief Clayton Farr Jr. will give remarks at the ceremony. <br /><br />Attendees can park along the sidewalk of Montauk Court within the nearby subdivision named Deerfield Ridge, located east of the construction site. We ask that those who attend please avoid bl
 ocking driveways and mailboxes.</div>
