<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - Members of the public are invited to attend a grand opening and ribbon-cutting event for the new terminal at Columbia Regional Airport, 11300 S. Airport Drive, Wednesday, Oct. 19. The event will take place from 3 to 6 p.m., with the ribbon-cutting ceremony beginning promptly at 3 p.m. Members of the public are encouraged to arrive by 2:45 p.m.<br /><br />Directly following the ribbon-cutting, comments will be delivered by state and local officials including Gov. Mike Parson, Columbia Mayor Barbara Buffaloe, City of Jefferson Mayor Carrie Tergin, Boone County Presiding Commissioner Dan Atwill, as well as other local, state and federal dignitaries. <br /><br />Directly following remarks from speakers, those in attendance will be able to tour the terminal. Light refreshments will be provided. <br /><br />"This is an opportunity for the entire region to come together and celebrate our new ter
minal and the amenities it has to offer for travelers in the mid-Missouri region," said City of Columbia Economic Development Director Stacey Button. "We have planned this opening to ensure that guests are able to tour the entire facility before it becomes operational later this month."<br /><br />The new 52,000-square-foot terminal includes four gates and passenger boarding bridges, and will feature new amenities, such as a restaurant, a mother's room, a sensory room and an interior Service Animal Relief Area (SARA). As part of the City's <a href="https://www.como.gov/cultural-affairs/programs-and-services/percent-art-program/">Percent for Art program</a>, the terminal also includes artwork from several artists. <br /><br />Flights through the new terminal will begin at a date following the grand opening and ribbon-cutting, and will be announced at the event. <br /><br />Parking is available in the airport commercial parking lots and guests should look for signs di
recting them toward the event.</div>
