<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services (PHHS) will host a COVID-19 and flu vaccination comfort clinic on Saturday, Oct. 22, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at PHHS, 1005 W. Worley St., Columbia.<br /><br />The comfort clinic is available to children ages 6 months through 18 years who are interested in receiving the COVID-19 and/or flu vaccine but are anxious about needles or the process of receiving a vaccination. Appointments are required to attend this clinic: <a href="https://bit.ly/3BesCyr">https://bit.ly/3BesCyr</a><br /><br />The comfort clinic is sensory-friendly and will have extra comfort measures available to patients including anxiety-reducing activities, private rooms for vaccination, distraction tools and volunteers trained in evidence-based child life therapeutic interventions.<br /><br />Primary doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine will be available for ages 6 months through 18
years.<br /><br />Updated/bivalent Pfizer booster doses will also be available for those ages 5 years through 18 years. The updated booster is recommended as a single booster dose at least two months following primary or previous booster vaccination.<br /><br />COVID and flu vaccines (for children) at PHHS are free and do not require ID or health insurance. Parental consent forms are required for anyone under the age of 18.<br /><br />In addition to these clinics, vaccination opportunities are available with other local vaccinators.
