<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - On Tuesday, Oct. 18 the Columbia Police Department arrested Wayne Lamont Warmack, 38, of Columbia, for unlawful possession of a firearm and two misdemeanor traffic warrants. <br /><br />After his arrest, the Department’s Criminal Investigations Division obtained a search warrant for the apartment he is associated with in the 800 block of Claudell Lane. Inside the apartment, officers located three additional firearms, two of which were previously reported stolen by other agencies. <br /><br />Warmack is a convicted felon and cannot possess firearms. He was arrested for additional charges as a result of that search warrant, including three counts of unlawful possession of a firearm and two counts of stealing a firearm.<br /><br />Warmack is a person of interest in the shooting that occurred on Sept. 18, 2021, in the 10 block of North 5th Street where three people were shot. While he has been ar
 rested for the other charges, Warmack has not been charged with the Sept. 18 shooting. That investigation is still ongoing.<br /><br />The Department extends its thanks to the detectives and officers who were involved in the arrest. <br /><br />If you know something, say something. Columbia Police are asking for your help. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to please contact the Columbia Police Department at 573.874.7652.<br /><br />To report a tip without including your name or contact information, call CrimeStoppers at 573.875.TIPS (8477). A tip that leads to an arrest or helps solve a felony crime could result in a cash reward.<br /><br />
