<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">Columbia hosts NCAA Midwest Regional Cross Country Championships at Gans Creek</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia will host athletes, coaches and fans for the 2022 NCAA Midwest Regional Cross Country Championships tomorrow. The event is the first NCAA regional hosted at Gans Creek Cross Country Course and is the largest meet the course has hosted in its three-year history.<br /><br />The women's 6k race will kick off the event at 11 a.m., while the men's 10k will follow at noon. The event will be streamed live on YouTube and tickets to attend the event in person are available <a href="https://am.ticketmaster.com/mizzou/xcregionals/">online</a>. <br /><br />At the meet, 36 teams will compete for the chance to send runners to the 2022 NCAA Cross Country Championships Saturday, Nov. 19 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Friday's meet is one of nine qualifiers across the country, and the top two teams in each regional automatically qualify for the championships. <br 
 /><br />This championship event will result in an influx of visitors to Columbia over the next two days and through the weekend. <br /><br />"Events like the NCAA Midwest Regional Cross Country Championships are vital to our community," said Amy Schneider, director of the Columbia Convention and Visitors Bureau. "The student-athletes and fans spend money at our hotels, restaurants and stores, which has a positive economic impact on our city."<br /><br />Securing this event was a partnership of the Columbia Sports Commission, the Columbia Parks and Recreation department and the University of Missouri Department of Athletics. <br /><br />"We are fortunate to have partners who are invested in making these high-profile events happen," said Columbia City Manager De’Carlon Seewood. "Our community is excited to welcome visitors from all over the Midwest to our community and our cross country course." <br /><br />In additio
 n to this year’s regional event, Columbia will host the NCAA National Cross Country Championships in 2025 at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course. </div>
